Ko Group’s Streamlined Supply Chain with Samurai’s 360° Supply Model

Learn how Samurai minimised overhead costs and simplified the procurement process for Ko Group’s growing number of parks across Europe.

The Challenge

As Ko Group expanded across Belgium, France, and Luxembourg, they successfully managed their procurement, own warehouse and distribution of custom-branded goods across their multiple venues. This hands-on approach provided control and visibility, but it also required significant staff resources and ongoing investment in storage and labour. As the business continued to grow, so did the complexity of their procurement process. Ko Group saw an opportunity to streamline operations and began looking for a more efficient and effective solution to support their next phase of growth.

The Solution: 360° Supply Model

We reviewed Ko Group’s needs and proposed our 360° Supply model, an end-to-end solution that simplifies operations across multi-site venues by placing procurement, stock management and distribution in Samurai’s hands, while final sign-off remains with head office. We moved their stock to our warehouse, took over site distribution and began managing inventory tracking and product procurement.

Key elements of the solution included:

  • Custom product sourcing and production: Products are manufactured through our trusted partner factory, ensuring consistent quality at a competitive price point made possible by the collective buying power we leverage across our client base.
  • Centralised warehousing: Inventory of custom products is now stored all in one place in our Netherlands facility removing the need for Ko Group to manage their own warehouse.
  • Online ordering portal: A personalised platform that allows all locations to have their own accounts and place orders as frequently as needed. Management can get with full visibility of orders placed and view live stock levels.
  • Inventory management: Our team monitors stock levels and links the online ordering portal with our reporting tools to gain clarity on stock levels. We then alert head office when inventory is low and create order acknowledgments that management just need to sign off for quick approval to keep replenishment seamless.
  • Flexible freight options: A variety of shipping methods are used to optimise delivery timeframes and minimise transport costs.

The Results

The implementation of the 360° Supply model has:

  • Eliminated internal warehousing costs: Shutting down their own warehouse has led to a large reduction in overhead costs.
  • Lower staffing requirements: With Samurai managing inventory and fulfilment, Ko Group reduced the need for warehouse staff, which also came with a cost benefit.
  • Improved stock accuracy: Real time sales tracking and detailed reports allow for better forecasting and faster purchasing decisions.
  • More time to focus on growth: With stock monitoring and reordering absorbed by Samurai, Ko Group can now spend less time on their custom product supply and logistics and more time scaling the business.

Conclusion

Ko Group’s adoption of the 360° Supply model shows how the right logistics partner can simplify operations without compromising control. By centralising inventory, streamlining ordering, and removing the need for internal warehousing and fulfilment, they have reduced overheads, eased the operational burden on staff, and built a more efficient, scalable supply chain – freeing up their team to focus on what matters most: growing the business.

While operational support was the initial driver, Ko Group’s decision to work with Samurai also stemmed from the quality and competitiveness of our product offering. By combining dependable supply with our 360° service approach, we’ve demonstrated that we’re the right partner to deliver a seamless end-to-end custom product procurement service.
